CLEP Prep
Looking to complete a college degree and would like to shorten
the path? CLEP Prep provides participants with the tools necessary
to attain college credit by showing their knowledge of specific
subjects through the successful completion of a CLEP exam

RAMP II- Strategies and Actions for Obtaining the
Jobs You Want
Attend this powerful workshop and learn to make the most of
your opportunities to move within Verizon. The first RAMP
session focuses on the mechanics of using the system, while
this workshop helps you understand Selection Classification
Codes, job pathing, and teaches you how to analyze job briefs
to increase your chances for the jobs you want!

Verizon Structured Interview
Verizon now requires the Structured Interview (SI) for some
job titles. Not familiar with Structured Interviews? Attend
this workshop to learn how you can be better prepared for
the questions you’ll be asked. Discover the five critical
tips for performing well in a Structured Interview. Practice
responding to questions and situations similar to those in
a Structured Interview.
RAMP
Does RAMP confuse you? Gain a better understanding of this
important system and explore how "career pathing"
at Verizon works to help you pursue a position that you really
want.
Testing At Verizon
Explore the role of standardized testing within the Verizon
job selection process. What tests do you need to take to apply
for certain positions? Is your Universal Test Battery-R score
up-to-date? Learn how to find answers to your questions, and
develop a plan to prepare for testing.
Writing My Resume
Resume Writing is designed to assist those who already have
an understanding of the resume writing process. Your advisor
will review the basic concepts, such as formats, the "do's"
and "don'ts," and the fine points of writing a cover
letter. Take Intensive Resume Writing, which is offered as
a 3 hr. session or three 1 hr. sessions; if you have never
prepared a resume, or have very limited knowledge of the process.
Building My Interviewing Skills
Learn to prepare for an interview by reviewing different interview
formats and techniques to handle a variety of questions. Practice
what you learn and receive coaching from your advisor. Take
the Intensive Interviewing workshop if you want more extensive
assistance and support. Intensive Interviewing is offered
as a 3-hr. session or three 1- hr. sessions.
Networking to New Opportunities
Find out how to develop and utilize an effective personal
network that will help you achieve your goals. Practice Informational
Interviewing techniques that can help open doors and increase

And some are just downright unhappy. This workshop will help you plan for a satisfying retirement by sharing what works and what doesn't for many people. Learn how you can "practice" for retirement. Examine the role that work had in your pre-retirement life and what role it might take afterwards. Retirement can be a highly satisfying period in your life - provided you plan for it properly.

Tech Talk: Tips for Dealing with Difficult Situations
Get insight into why some situations are difficult and how to turn them around. This workshop, specially developed for outside technicians, will help you assess your own communication and customer service skills, and it will demonstrate the impact your own attitude has on a given situation with a customer. You'll also learn how to distinguish between a difficult customer and an irate one, and you'll learn how to handle specific scenarios through the use of role-play.
