CAEL facilitates the Energy Providers Coalition for Education (EPCE), a group of industry representatives that develops, sponsors, and promotes industry-driven, standardized online learning programs to meet the workforce needs of the energy industry. When speaking to our working students enrolled in these online energy education programs, it becomes clear there are specific universal qualities an online student must have to be successful:

• Self-directed
• Willing and able to use computers
• Disciplined
• Motivated
• Experienced with e-mail, browsing the internet/research, word processing
• Enjoys reading and writing
• Asks questions

If you’re thinking about taking online courses, it’s important to consider whether or not you'll be successful as an online learner. Some questions to ask yourself are obvious and some you may need to consider carefully. Visit this EPCE webpage to learn more!
