Earlier this month CAEL hosted a webinar, Reinventing Career Services, focusing on the career services renaissance taking place at higher education institution campuses across the country. Providing details around the career services trends we’ve been following, inspired by our efforts working with Miramar College in “reimagining” its campus career services, the webinar shared perspectives on the subject from both employers and colleges.

It Pays to Be a College Grad

Americans with only high school diplomas represent only 34 percent of the workforce. This is the first time in our history that college grads have made up a larger slide of the labor market. According to a new report from the Center on Education and the Workforce at Georgetown University, of 11.6 million jobs created after the recession, 8.4 million went to those with at least a bachelor’s degree. And these grads are making decent money – more than $53,000 per year.
