How the Toolkit Works
Used together, the Institutional Self-Assessment Survey and
the Adult Learner Inventory compare your own faculty and administration’s
view of existing adult programs with the actual perceptions
of adult learners. The Tools help you pinpoint both your institution’s
strengths and areas for improvement.
For example: Your Institutional Self-Assessment Survey scores
indicate strengths in the area of student services, but your
students’ perceptions (through the Adult Learner Inventory)
indicate dissatisfaction. Your detailed report gives you the
information you need to act quickly and correct the situation.
Or, perhaps your Institutional Self-Assessment scores show
strong practices in assessing learning outcomes. Your Adult
Learner Inventory scores agree. Use these findings in your
outreach to potential students.
