RETURNING TO LEARNING®
Dorothy Wax, MS, PHR, CPLP

Everyone is a learner, and many of us have learned much of what we know away from schools. Many people say their most valuable learning has been from the “school of hard knocks” and that “experience is the best teacher.” Certainly learning from experience is memorable; we rarely forget things we learn from big successes and big mistakes! Sometimes, though, you need formal learning to reach the next level in your career. Or you started a degree many years ago and want to finish it now. If you decide that returning to school is the right choice for you, it’s good to remember that you’re already a seasoned learner. Now you’ll focus on becoming a student.

Returning to Learning® will help participants understand their options related to learning, including the possibility of earning college credit for learning that has already taken place. The course also covers the relationship between education and career goals, learning style preferences, the barriers adult learners face and how to overcome them, and the advantages they bring into the classroom with them.

In this course, students will participate in weekly forums; meet weekly for an online chat session; and complete self-assessments to determine their preferred learning style and their suitability to apply for college credit for prior learning.

Course Dates:
November 18th – December 2

Live Online Sessions Dates:
Tuesday, November 18   7:00 PM Eastern
Tuesday, November 25   7:00 PM Eastern
Tuesday, December 2     7:00 PM Eastern
