Prior Learning Assessment: Overview and Examples - A new CAEL webinar
Learn about Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
Without leaving your desk!
How can your institution attract and retain adults who want to continue their education? One way is to offer PLA, a process by which institutions award college credit for what people learn outside the classroom.
Learn more about PLA through this Webinar series, sponsored by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), a leader in PLA for over 30 years.
The interactive webinar format will be:
Session 1:
- An introduction to PLA and the various formats
- A discussion of the portfolio method in general
- Questions and Discussion
Session 2:
- Review of the assessment process and the homework assignment
- Overview of the ten CAEL standards (academic and administrative); other PLA resources
- Questions and Discussion
The June webinar series consists of two two-hour sessions. All sessions will be from 2-4 p.m. EASTERN time. The webinar series will be June 9 and June 16.
CAEL members save! The cost for the webinar is:
| CAEL Members: |

Included in the cost of the webinar series, is a copy of CAEL’s recently released publication, Prior Learning Portfolios: A Representative Collection (Hart & Hickerson, CAEL 2009).
