Welcome to WorkforcePhiladelphia2.0, an initiative promoting economic development in the Greater Philadelphia region through building and retaining a world class workforce. The initiative brings business leaders together to identify exemplary employee learning and development practices and then disseminate those strategies to other businesses.

Each year, we focus our efforts around one initiative:

  • This year, WorkforcePhiladelphia2.0 is partnering with Graduate! Philadelphia – an initiative to help Philadelphians who have some college complete a degree – to explore funding streams for education and training for working adults, with an emphasis on linking companies’ investment in education to their strategic business goals.  Building on a study conducted by the CEO Council for Growth on how companies can use tuition assistance programs strategically, WorkforcePhiladelphia2.0 is planning a workshop in which HR and learning leaders will be able to work on strategies that address corporate challenges and support adult learning.

  • In 2007, WorkforcePhiladelphia2.0 offered member companies a session on tuition assistance.

  • In 2006, WorkforcePhiladelphia2.0 convened local business and higher education leaders at a forum to discuss how to move from partnership to collaboration at a regional level.

  • In 2005, WorkforcePhiladelphia2.0 recognized three area companies for their exemplary employee learning and development practices and policies.  Click here to read the profiles.
