The CAEL team draws great strength from its varied set of backgrounds and skills. But we hold one very important quality in common: dedicated expertise in forging the connections between learning and work that adult learners—and their communities—depend on for social mobility and economic equity.
Angela Klitzsch
Special Projects Support
Angela Klitzsch joined CAEL part-time in 2023 and is focused on supporting special projects with CAEL’s executive team.
Klitzsch most recently was president and CEO of EmployIndy in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was responsible for developing and scaling city-wide initiatives that empower Marion County residents to access services and training necessary to secure a livable wage and grow in a career that meets employer demand for talent. Klitzsch brings deep expertise to the organization in strategic planning, innovation, systems-change, and execution as she focuses on the evolving landscape of workforce development. With an extensive background of more than 17 years in workforce development, skills training, economic development, and philanthropy, she was vice president of global philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase, overseeing local corporate giving, community engagement and civic outreach for Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia, and she also worked for the Central Indiana Community Foundation, overseeing the $20 million Family Success program. Klitzsch also has experience working with The Clowes Fund, Inc., Callahan & Associates in Washington, D.C., and she was a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in the Republic of Moldova.
An Indianapolis resident, Klitzsch volunteers with the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs Distinguished Alumni Council, the board of the Indianapolis Local Initiative Support Corporation, Indiana Afterschool Network, and the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention.
Klitzsch holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and history from The University of Notre Dame and an MPA in nonprofit management and MA in philanthropic studies from Indiana University.
