As director of initiative at CAEL, Devon Coombe leads and manages the delivery of our advising and program support projects. In addition, she works with CAEL staff to strategize about internal processes and improvements. Coombe’s experience ranges from project management, business planning, financial and operational management, proposal development and financial reporting, and strategic planning.
Since joining CAEL in 2003, Coombe has worked in business operations and budgeting, grant financial management, proposal development, and system implementation for IT solutions. She has managed federal, state, and foundation funded projects in areas including community college system policy, planning and implementation of prior learning assessment, development of a state-wide network of colleges and universities supporting student veterans, and industry-education partnerships for workforce development in the energy sector.
Prior to joining CAEL, Coombe directed the client relations, consulting services, publications, and conferences divisions for an international K-12 educational consulting firm serving public school systems in the areas of standards, performance assessments and accountability plans.
Coombe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Boston College and Masters in International Management from the University of Denver.
