The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), through generous support from the ECMC Foundation, is pleased to announce the launch of an innovative pilot project to develop clear pathways between local Workforce Development Board-supported trainings and local community college degree programs by utilizing prior learning assessment (PLA) crosswalks. This “pathways” approach will help workforce system participants obtain credentials in a faster and less costly way and facilitate better alignment between workforce boards and colleges in developing more comprehensive, better informed career pathways in the long run.
Four Workforce Development Board and Community College partnerships from across with country will be selected to participate in this exciting project. CAEL is currently accepting applications from regions and/or communities who would like to be considered. In addition to a wide array of technical assistance and other services, each site will also receive $25,000 to defray costs associated with participation.
