In order to be able to provide learners an environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is to be realized, active participation for all learners must be prioritized. Learning experiences must be active in nature for two reasons:

  1. Active learning is more engaging, and it allows learners to grapple with new concepts, encouraging the integration of new knowledge
  2. Diversity, equity, and inclusion create a learning environment where all learners have a voice.
