Cleveland Works to Diminish Skills Gap

There’s been a lot of discussion on what many employers have identified as a growing skills gap—the divergence between the increasing demand for skilled workers and the available supply of suitably expert talent—as well as solutions organizations can employ to remediate the issue.

Demonstrating how this talent gap not only harms employers but also communities at large, Crain’s looked at how businesses, public groups, schools and philanthropic organizations are coming together in Cleveland to solve an issue that community leaders agree demands serious attention.

A crucial takeaway from the article is the importance of relationship-building to drive workforce engagement. By working with community partners and giving local employers, employees and relevant groups a voice, organizations stand to develop solutions that are tailored to meet their needs. As the article makes clear, the health of the talent pipeline begins and ends with the right partnerships.
