Missed CAEL’s Closing Institution Pathways Webinar? Here’s a Recording!
As the closure of ITT Technical Institute continues to make headlines, it’s become clear that the need for closing institution pathways—plans in place to help students from closing institutions transfer their credit and complete their degrees at other institutions—are essential to prevent the same issues that are currently affecting ITT alumni.
Earlier this month, CAEL hosted an informational webinar to explore the opportunity to develop a framework for institutions looking to receive students from a closing institution and help them along their path from college completion to career. Led by CAEL’s vice president of higher education, Dr. Scott Campbell, the webinar provided a background on previous closing institutions, resources for students affected by ITT Tech’s closing and insight into how CAEL aims to develop its framework with the support of its partners.
Campbell was joined by Dr. Paul LeBlanc, president of Southern New Hampshire University, who spoke about his institution’s recent decision to take control of Daniel Webster College, a subsidiary of ITT Educational Services.
At the conclusion of the webinar, attendees were given the opportunity to ask Drs. Campbell and LeBlanc questions about how students from closing institutions can best be served.
