Apprenticeships are Back in a Big Way

When you think of apprenticeships, you probably think of the old school training model common in construction and manufacturing. Times have changed. Today, apprenticeship programs are popping up in other industries like health care and insurance.

Lynn Schroeder, Vice President of Client Relations at CAEL, recently wrote the article, The New Face of Apprenticeships for Chief Learning Officer. In this article, she talks about the fresh approach many industries are taking when it comes to apprenticeships. Companies like Aon and Zurich see the value of apprentices because it puts the student on a proven path to success. They find that employees who have gone through the programs are more loyal and are equipped with training relevant to the needs of the market. This makes it a win-win for the apprentice and the organization.
