About Us

Our Team

The CAEL team draws great strength from its varied set of backgrounds and skills. But we hold one very important quality in common: dedicated expertise in forging the connections between learning and work that adult learnersand their communitiesdepend on for social mobility and economic equity.

Roderick Wright

Director of Initiatives

Roderick Wright joined CAEL in 2024. As director of initiatives on our workforce and economic development team, he leads our Build Better Careers initiative with support from the Truist Foundation and also engages on other projects that draw on his extensive experience in workforce development.

Wright most recently served as training systems manager at Work Ready Oklahoma where he oversaw the execution of training and special projects. He created, implemented, and maintained a structured system for low-income families and other underserved or marginalized populations to access training, resulting in an industry-recognized credential. Prior to Work Ready Oklahoma, Wright served as the director of veterans services and targeted populations for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission with the State of Oklahoma. He also has served as adjunct professor for workforce development at Rose State College and a trainer for Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma, Inc.

A certified workforce development professional (CWDP), Wright also holds a certification in human trafficking from the Oklahoma Coalition Against Trafficking. He completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Southern Nazarene University and earned his master’s degree in adult education and workforce development from Oklahoma State University. Wright resides in Oklahoma City.
