Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) and the Adult Learner Readiness Quiz

CAEL’s definition of Adult Learners combines an age profile, students typically aged 25 and older, and other characteristics. Adult Learners often enroll less than full time, have some credits but no degree, and are not free of significant family, work and/or financial obligations. Opportunities for PLA can be a critical tool in supporting an adult learners’ academic goals.
