Doug Heckman
Vice President, Partnerships & Development
As Vice President of Partnerships and Development, Doug Heckman leads a team that builds impact-driven cross-sector solutions for partners across higher education, workforce, and industry areas. He has extensive expertise in developing data-driven, innovative programs that link economic and workforce development in communities and linking programs across multiple cities that benefit adult learners and employees. Heckman works extensively with postsecondary institutions to help them identify key industry partners and assist with curricular alignment. He has led similar partnership and support teams in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Heckman is a former Air Force officer and higher education instructor at community colleges and universities. He has worked abroad in Norway and the UK, serving as Emsi’s head of further education. Heckman currently serves as Board President for the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute and previously served as President of the Board of Directors for the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow, Idaho.
Heckman obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington, a Master of Arts in Literature from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor of Science in English from the United States Air Force Academy.
