About Us

Our Team

The CAEL team draws great strength from its varied set of backgrounds and skills. But we hold one very important quality in common: dedicated expertise in forging the connections between learning and work that adult learners—and their communities—depend on for social mobility and economic equity.

Tracy Robinson

Vice President, Member Engagement and Strategic Networks

As the vice president of member engagement and strategic networks, Tracy Robinson leads the organization's national membership strategy, network expansion, and member-centric initiatives. In this role, she oversees CAEL’s Member Hub, Ambassador program, Communities of Practice, member events, and advocacy efforts, building national strategic networks across higher education, workforce development, and employer leadership to advance policy and practice in Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and adult worker mobility.

Before joining CAEL, Robinson spent 25 years at the University of Memphis, serving most recently as the Executive Director of the Center for Regional Economic Enrichment. In that capacity, she directed a team of 40 and managed a $35+ million portfolio of externally funded initiatives, including professional and continuing education, CPL, and GROWWTH—a $25 million Tennessee Opportunity Pilot serving low-income families across 21 counties. She also led institutional adult learner initiatives, scaling the university's Finish Line degree-completion model to produce more than 1,200 graduates. A longtime active CAEL member, Robinson became a CAEL Ambassador in 2020. Her leadership was instrumental in the University of Memphis receiving CAEL's Adult Learner Impact Award in 2025.

Robinson is an active governance leader and national advocate for workforce equity. She serves as Secretary and Board Member of the Greater Memphis Workforce Development Board and is a member of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission's Technical Transfer Pathways Subcommittee. A former Complete College America Fellow, she previously served on the State of Tennessee Prior Learning Assessment Task Force and the Education Strategy Group’s Expert Working Group. A frequent keynote speaker and facilitator, Robinson has delivered more than 100 presentations across national organizations, including CAEL, AACRAO, UPCEA, and APLU.

Robinson holds a master of science in consumer science and education from the University of Memphis and a bachelor of science from Mississippi University for Women.
