Adult learners bring a wealth of knowledge and professional experience to higher education. But what happens when they're preparing for a new career, entering an unfamiliar industry, or seeking opportunities beyond their existing professional networks? How can institutions help learners not only develop new skills, but also apply them in authentic workplace settings?
Join Western Governors University (WGU) and Riipen for a conversation about expanding access to work-integrated learning for adult and nontraditional students. Drawing on WGU's journey from building an experiential learning program to engaging hundreds of students in real employer projects, we'll explore lessons about student motivation, career mobility, and the challenges of reaching more learners.
We'll also discuss how institutions can develop flexible, employer-connected learning opportunities that recognize individual learner needs while building a more intentional connection between education and employment.
