CAEL Releases First Annual Impact Report

Report Highlights Growth in Numbers, Diversity of CAEL Membership Network

INDIANAPOLIS – CAEL, a nonprofit organization that helps adults navigate on- and off-ramps between education and employment, has released its first annual impact report, providing a quantitative and qualitative outline of CAEL’s 2022 accomplishments, which are driven by its collaboration within the CAEL community. Highlights include enhancements of employer talent pipelines, industry partnerships, and regional workforce development programs and the expansion of CAEL’s network to include more members representing more facets of the education-employment ecosystem than ever before. CAEL membership, which encompasses educators and trainers, employers, industry groups, workforce developers, government agencies, and mission-aligned organizations, grew to represent 49 states and a postsecondary enrollment of more than 1.2 million adults.

“As a membership organization, CAEL’s greatest impact occurs when we unite diverse partners around a common cause,” said Earl Buford, CAEL president. “While inclusive partnerships have been a hallmark of CAEL since our founding nearly 50 years ago, as we bring about their growth in scale and scope, an annual impact report offers another opportunity to recognize and highlight the progress that is possible when adult learners and workers become a focal point for advancing equitable economic mobility.”

“Measuring impact shines a deserving spotlight on the progress that CAEL’s unique brand of collaboration has made possible,” said Dr. Annette Parker, president of South Central College and chairperson of the CAEL Advisory Council. “Just as important, it illuminates opportunities for continual improvement along the path forward for our community of practice.”

In addition to data from CAEL’s annual membership survey, the report includes updates about CAEL’s national industry partnerships, workforce development projects, equity-driven grant programs, and new research offerings. The report is available at www.cael.org.
