Vice President, Virtual Prior Learning Assessment Center

The Vice President, Virtual Prior Learning Assessment Center (VPLAC) is a member of the CAEL executive team who is responsible for planning, launching, managing and growing the VPLAC. CAEL’s VPLAC will provide prior learning assessment (PLA) services to individuals (students and potential students) and organizations serving current and potential adult learners. The Center will have a national client base and will provide services in an on-line format—that is, clients will access the center through web-based technology rather than in a face-to face-format.

Communications and Social Media Specialist

The Communications and Social Media Specialist is responsible for the messaging and written communications of the organization, whether they are on a CAEL website, news outlet, blog, social networking site, brochure, or any other communications vehicle. The Communications and Social Media Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. About half of the specialist’s time will be spent on a key CAEL initiative, the Virtual Prior Learning Assessment Center.

Graphic Designer- Part-time (20 hours per week)

The graphic designer is responsible for assisting the Brand and Marketing Manager in all manners of design, including ad campaigns, email campaigns, brochures, online presence, reports and presentations. The designer is expected to be highly creative and resourceful, and be able to follow and expand brand strategies. This is a part-time ongoing position. The graphic designer will support a key CAEL initiative, the Virtual Prior Learning Assessment Center, as well as ongoing CAEL intitiatives.

Marketing Coordinator

CAEL is seeking  a marketing coordinator for a Department of Energy (DOE) Workforce Training for the Electric Power Sector grant awarded to CAEL. The goal of this three year project is to provide critical workforce preparedness training for more than 1,800 current and future employees of eight electric power entities, expanding to reach additional electric power entities under the umbrella of Energy Providers Coalition for Education (EPCE). In addition, this position is responsible for supporting marketing activities for the Online Alliances Team.  The ideal candidate will provide support for various marketing, public relation, and reporting efforts.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in a wide variety of marketing activities including:

  • Development and implementation of marketing campaigns
  • Designing materials for print and electronic media
  • Interactive marketing efforts including use of social media and development of video assets
  • Market research

Project Coordinator

CAEL is seeking a project coordinator for a Department of Energy (DOE) Workforce Training for the Electric Power Sector grant awarded to CAEL in Denver, Colorado. The goal of this project is to provide critical workforce preparedness training for more than 1,800 current and future employees of eight electric power entities, expanding to reach additional electric power entities under the umbrella of Energy Providers Coalition for Education (EPCE). In addition, this position will provide support to the EPCE program through a variety of tasks. This position requires a self-directed, organized individual who has the ability to work independently and is capable of managing a range of duties and responsibilities.  S/he must possess strong written and spoken communication skills and pro-active problem solving skills.

(1) Course Instructor, VPLAC

The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning is seeking part-time as-needed Course Instructors to teach a fully online course detailing the portfolio development process; this course will bear learning objectives equivalent to a three-credit, 100/1000-level undergraduate course. Course Instructors will be responsible for delivery of instruction for all assigned sections, and for evaluation and assignment of grades and related credit recommendations to enrolled students. Candidates must follow CAEL principles in assessing student learning, and, must review student work with a level of rigor appropriate to regional accreditation. Student work must be returned quickly, and engagement with the student must be responsive, timely, and professional.

(2)Faculty Assessor, VPLAC

The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning is seeking part-time as-needed Faculty Assessors to review student work reflective of prior learning. Successful candidates will perform all instructional and assessment duties necessary to deliver credit recommendations for students who have submitted individual portfolios.

Faculty Assessors will be assigned to review individual student portfolios. All submitted work will be reviewed for undergraduate-level learning. Candidates must follow CAEL principles in assessing student learning, and, must review student work with a level of rigor appropriate to regional accreditation. Student assessments must be returned quickly, and engagement with the student (if appropriate) must be responsive, timely, and professional.
