John Hawkins Joins CAEL Team

INDIANAPOLIS The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) is pleased to welcome John Hawkins as senior director of partnership development. Specializing in strengthening workforce and economic development strategies through labor market data analytics and planning, Hawkins brings 10 years of experience in building new strategic partnerships to help clients in the workforce and economic development sectors achieve success.

John has significant expertise in leading projects related to industry-tailored strategies, the labor market, and workforce demand, said Earl Buford, CAEL president. His involvement with workforce development boards and other organizations throughout the U.S., combined with a strong grasp of economic impact analysis and labor market analytics for workforce and economic development, makes him an ideal new addition to our team.

Previously, Hawkins held multiple roles at Emsi, most recently serving as director of workforce development. Prior to that, he worked at the State of Idaho Transportation Department.

Im excited to join such an established organization with a focus on helping ensure adult learners and job seekers can pursue their paths to career success, said Hawkins.

Based in Moscow, Idaho, Hawkins holds masters degrees in civil engineering and regional planning from the University of Idaho, as well as a bachelors degree in landscape architecture from the same institution. A certified labor market data specialist and a certified strategic workforce planner, he also served on the board of directors for the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) from 2016-2019 and remains an active member.
