CAEL, SUNY Partner To Bring Adult Learner 360™ to 10 New York Community Colleges
by Carlo Bertolini on Feb 20, 2026
The State University of New York (SUNY) is partnering with CAEL to make Adult Learner 360™ available to 10 SUNY community colleges. Adult Learner 360 is CAEL’s integrated diagnostic tool and consulting solution used to identify areas for improved service to adult learners. Parallel student and institutional surveys yield results that compare institutional practices with adult learner experiences, helping institutions take informed steps in implementing plans to better support their adult learners.
Surveys are planned to begin shortly after each campus’ spring break and will remain open 4-6 weeks. CAEL experts will then work with SUNY System and the participating community colleges to address opportunities for enhancing adult learners’ academic experiences.

"By working with community colleges throughout the SUNY system, we will help ensure that our adult learners have the support and services they need to thrive as students and succeed when they graduate," said SUNY Chancellor King. "We are proud to work with CAEL to ensure we are doing everything we can for our students, and to identify areas where we can improve services. I thank our participating community colleges for being a part of this effort that will help New Yorkers throughout the state succeed in their academic efforts and achieve upward mobility through the skills they are learning through their SUNY education.
"CAEL is honored to partner with the State University of New York in support of adult learners and workers,” said Earl Buford, CAEL president. “Academic outcomes are a critical factor in economic mobility, and we look forward to applying Adult Learner 360's research-based, diagnostic approach to boost the success of SUNY students inside and outside of the classroom."
The partnership with CAEL complements the SUNY Reconnect Program, SUNY also noted. Through SUNY Reconnect, eligible adult learners in high-demand fields receive free community college tuition and other support.
"Doing more for adult learners is absolutely essential for us to more fully realize the tremendous opportunities of SUNY Reconnect,” said David Potash, president of SUNY Sullivan, a participating community college. “On behalf of SUNY Sullivan, we're thrilled to work with CAEL, a long-standing national leader in adult education. Thank you so very much, SUNY, and thank you, CAEL. We're very much looking forward to seeing more adult learners prosper and succeed in Sullivan County."
