Hands-On Learning
A $282,000 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission will bolster capacity at Houston Community College's Gulf Coast Region Apprenticeship Hub. The funding will help up to 550 apprentices enter pathways including plumbing, sheet metal, and electrical technician (HCC).

Rowan University and Wilkin & Guttenplan, P.C., an accounting firm, are partnering on a post-baccalaureate certificate of accounting CPA apprenticeship program, reducing the cost of licensure while offering participants on-the-job experience (Rowan University).

Hands-on experience for Indiana University South Bend translated into a helping hand in tax preparation as students joined the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which offers free tax preparation to low- and moderate-income beneficiaries (IU South Bend).

Building Education Benefits
A partnership between Central Michigan University and Huntington National Bank is bringing tuition discounts to eligible bank employees, spouses, and dependents (CMU). 

Free certificates and microcredentials from Texas State University via Coursera are now available to TXST students, faculty, staff and alumni (TXST).

Accelerating Adult Learning
Luzerne County Community College hosted its 36th annual Outstanding Adult Learner Award reception, where it honored a 44-year-old first-time college student who, having overcome many challenges, is poised to transfer into a master's program at Bloomsburg University (LCCC).

Gordon State College hosted the 2025 Student Veteran and Adult Learner Symposium, where faculty and staff, including a veterans affairs representative from Dalton State College, joined other community members to engage in events dedicated to enhancing support for military-connected and adult learners (GSC).

Several organizations focused on helping adult learners upskill and reskill were represented on a Detroit Regional Chamber webinar dedicated to helping Detroit-area employers support adult learners (Detroit Regional Chamber).

The Art of Articulation
The Community College of Vermont and Vermont State University are working together to help transfer students benefit from individualized academic pathways that are ideal for career-focused adult learners and feature CPL opportunities (VermontBiz).

A partnership between Southern Adventist University and Georgia Northwestern Technical College will create new opportunities for learners to enter the online Adult Degree Completion program at the university, which includes CPL avenues and is designed for working adults (Southern Adventist University).

Awards and Other Additional Achievements
Eversource Energy, which employs more than 800 veterans, was honored with the 3-Star Employer Award from VETS Indexes (Eversource).

Glendale Community College is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The college, which has served more than 500,000 students, was hailed as a "pillar in our community" by the Glendale mayor (NW Valley Times).

The American College of Education has released its annual impact report, which includes highlights such as 86% of ACE students graduate with no debt (ACE).

For the 16th consecutive year, University of Wisconsin-Stout achieved silver-level designation as a Military Friendly^® School. As of last fall, the university enrolled approximately 800 military-connected learners (UW-Stout).

The vice provost of colleges, curriculum and assessment at University of Phoenix received an Outstanding Women in Business Award from the Phoenix Business Journal (University of Phoenix).
